First Time Bowlers
Steps for 1st time Bowl for Kids Sake Participants
- Ask your family and friends if they want to bowl. Everyone is welcome. Teams can be up to 6 people of all ages. Think of a team name.
- Sign up with Big Brothers Big Sisters by calling 519-271-7133.
- Get your pledge forms.
- Ask everyone you know if they will sponsor you for bowling.
Suggestions for asking:
* Hi, I’m bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters and would love for you to sponsor me.
* Sometimes you get asked “WHY?”
Answer: The funds that they raise go to programs that help children in the district who benefit from having a positive adult mentor in their lives. - We ask that each bowler strive to raise $100.00 in pledges. We require that each bowler raise $50 to participate. This covers the cost of your bowling, shoes, pizza and pop, and bowler gift.
- Collect all the information for your sponsors – complete mailing addresses are important – and their pledge amount. Record all their information on the pledge sheet. Remember to write clearly so that we can read the names and addresses for tax receipts.
- Try to get as many people as you can to sponsor you for the bowling event.
- Bring the forms and money with you when you come to bowl.
- Arrive at the bowling lanes 15 to 30 minutes early to get registered and pick up your shoes.
- Be ready to have fun while bowling and maybe even win a prize!
