Climb for Kids Sake

We all set goals and challenges for ourselves, and with determination and focus, we can achieve them!  Whether it is to reach the top of the mountain or to provide mentors for children in our community we all share a common goal – to be successful in what we do!

While people think of Big Brothers Big Sisters as a volunteer organization, we are also a non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of caring people and businesses.  Climb for Kids Sake is one way for friends of Big Brothers Big Sisters help to reach fundraising goals.  Funds raised help us to provide our traditional Big Brother Big Sister, and In-School Mentor Programs.  In addition, new and innovative services such as Big Couple, Big Family, Art Mentors, Go Girls, Go Guys, Little Apprenticeships and High School Co-op programs rely on the generous financial support of our local businesses and community.  These expanded services ensure flexibility in program design so that we attract a broader range of volunteers thus building our capacity to serve more children and youth.   All our programs are designed to increase self-esteem and pride with the children who participate.

Climb for Kids Sake is a fundraising model that works for an individual who has set a goal for themselves, and they want to involve the community in reaching that goal.  When an individual decides to make the climb, they fund their own trip.  Through donations, pledging and sponsorship, the ”ask” is to local businesses and friends to support their climb, for the BBBS Climb for Kids Sake.

“Amazing!” and “out of this world!” are only a couple of things that have been said about the feelings of accomplishment when the climber reaches their goal and achieves their dream!

Many children in our community dream about having a great friend, a mentor.  Through Climb for Kids Sake, we are able to make those dreams come true.
