Coop In-School Mentoring
High school students may choose to complete their co-operative education program with Big Brothers Big Sisters as an In-School Mentor. Co-op students are placed in an elementary school and mentor several children on a one-to-one basis on school property. Co-op students work with the children to develop a friendship and offer support by talking, playing games, making crafts and just having fun together! Students will also spend time helping in the classroom and offering literacy support. Co-op In-School Mentors will gain valuable experience in problem solving, team work, behaviour management and activity planning that can be applied to a variety of career goals.
To find out more about registering for the Co-op In-School Mentoring program, please speak with your Co-op teacher, call the Big Brothers Big Sisters office at 519-271-7133 or email us to find out more details.
